Welcome to our website…and to learning more about

Lutheran theological and pastoral education in AFRICA.

God has blessed the Church in Africa with tremendous growth!  Our ministry is one of working with African Lutheran churches and seminaries to help develop excellent pastors and leaders for this rapidly growing Church. This website focuses on our missionary work with Lutheran theological and pastoral education in both English-speaking and French-speaking Africa. Join us as we serve the Lord in training faithful under-shepherds to tend His flock in Africa (1 Pi 5:2-4).

Rev. Glenn and Susan Fluegge serve God as missionaries of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS World Mission) in Tshwane (Pretoria), South Africa.  Glenn and Susan formerly served as missionaries since 1998 in Togo, West Africa, where Glenn taught at the Centre Luthérien d’Etudes Théologiques, a seminary that trains pastors for Lutheran churches throughout French-speaking Africa.

Glenn’s primary responsibilities in South Africa are two-fold.  First, he serves as instructor and curriculum developer at Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) which trains pastors for Lutheran churches in South Africa and throughout Africa.  Secondly, he collaborates with Lutheran churches and seminaries throughout French-speaking Africa to help develop their pastoral training programs and teaches courses.

Glenn was born in Escondido, California, where he grew up with three brothers and six sisters on the family’s egg ranch.  He graduated from Concordia College in Seward.  He then graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, with an M.Div. and recently earned an M.S. in education from Capella University.  Susan (Ebel) was born to missionary parents in Papua New Guinea.  She has two older brothers.  Her father is now a retired pastor in Montana.  Susan graduated from Concordia College, Seward with a degree in elementary education.  She enjoys being the homemarker and is very involved in using digital media for networking with church partners in the United States.  Glenn and Susan have five children: Samuel, Abigail, Caleb, Jesse, and Eliana.

The Fluegges ask you to pray that God would raise up partners to support their work in South Africa.  Pray also that God grant wisdom and guidance to Glenn, and to the other professors at LTS.  Pray for the health of the family.  Pray that the Fluegges reach out effectively with the Good News and that their service to God be blessed to His glory and to the salvation of many in South Africa and throughout French-speaking Africa.
